Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 October 2026
muso.fm (“we”, “us”) is an internet radio directory and player, available as a website (muso.fm) and an iOS app. This policy explains what information is handled when you use them.
The short version
The iOS app collects no personal data — there are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no tracking. Your favourites and custom stations stay on your device and in your own iCloud account. The website uses third-party analytics services (listed below) to understand how it's used.
What the website uses
The muso.fm website loads the following third-party analytics services on every page. These services may process your IP address, device and browser information, and how you interact with the site, under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics (Google) — usage statistics. Google privacy policy
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) — usage analytics including session replay and heatmaps. Clarity terms
- Vercel Analytics — page performance and usage. Vercel privacy policy
- GoatCounter — lightweight, privacy-focused page-view statistics. GoatCounter privacy
- Ahrefs Web Analytics — site usage analytics. Ahrefs privacy policy
None of these are loaded by the iOS app.
What the iOS app stores
- Favourites and “My Stations” are stored on your device and, if you're signed into iCloud, in your private iCloud Key-Value Store so they sync between your devices. We cannot read them.
- Cached station lists and logos are stored on your device so the app works offline and loads quickly.
Who the app talks to
When you use the app, your device connects directly to:
- muso.fm — to download our curated station list and logos.
- Radio Browser (radio-browser.info), a community-maintained public radio directory — to search for stations, fetch station details, and register that a station was played (the directory asks player apps to do this so it can rank popular stations). No personal information is sent; Radio Browser's own policy is at radio-browser.info.
- The radio stations themselves — the audio stream comes straight from each station's server.
- Our metadata service — to fetch the “now playing” track title for some curated stations.
As with any internet connection, those servers see your device's IP address and standard request information. We don't link this to you, and we don't share anything with third parties.
Children
muso.fm is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the effective date.
